Software and guidance

The resources in this section of the NWN website include Interactive Teaching Programs, basic technical guidance for using Interactive Whiteboards with a range of multimedia and tutorials to enable you to use various software effectively in your teaching.

The guidance in this section has been organised into the following sections:

bulletGeneral guidance - Guidance on basic set up of the Interactive Whiteboard and helpful information on using the IWB using with peripheral hardware such as Video, projectors, scanners and digital cameras.

bulletInteractive Whiteboards - Basic technical instruction on using the Interactive Whiteboard Software provided with various boards. From creating, annotating and saving IWB files to adding hyper-links, importing images, sound and video.

bulletInteractive Teaching Programs - The ITPs have been developed to support teaching in the daily mathematics lessons and literacy hour. ITPs support the use of ICT as a whole class-teaching tool they will therefore be of most benefit to teachers who have an interactive whiteboard.

bulletMS Applications - Basic technical knowledge needed to use MS applications (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint effectively in the Literacy hour and daily mathematics lessons.
